FLO: Basics for topic coordinators

Course description

Every topic has a Flinders Learning Online (FLO) site, whether it is taught face to face, fully online, or with a blended approach. This course will take you through the most commonly used features of a FLO topic and show you how to create and edit activities, resources and communications in your site. 

This workshop is designed to be hands-on, but you can also just attend to see and ask questions. Please bring your laptop if you would like to build and make changes in your topic while you learn. We will also have some spare laptops available on the day.

  • Creating quizzes
  • Creating forums
  • Communication options
  • Groups and groupings
  • Hiding and showing activities and resources
  • Understanding gradebook
  • Adding video
  • Monitoring student activity

Who should attend

This course is designed for staff who are coordinating or convening an existing topic in FLO. If you are new to Flinders you should complete Overview of FLO before attending. Please note these are usually scheduled to occur just prior to FLO basics - check the link for details.
