Course description

InCites is Clarivate’s benchmarking and research analytics tool, which measures research performance using Web of Science data. This 30 minute workshop will walk the participant through the features of the database, identify their publication set and apply a number of useful metrics to the publications.

Who should attend

Researchers who would like to use the Incites tool to gain a quantitative analysis of their research outputs.

What you will learn

  • Quick and easy access to the research performance metrics for new Incite users 
  • Find an individual researcher’s set of publications.
  • Analyse a set of publications for useful metrics such as: Useful metrics: Documents by author; Citation counts; Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI); Author position (first, last, corresponding); Hot Papers; Highly Cited Papers; % Docs cited; % Docs in Q1/Q2 journals; Articles in top 1% and 10%; International and industry collaborations; Average percentiles; JIF; Journal Normalized Citation Impact (JNCI); Percentile in subject area.
