Course description

SciVal is Elsevier’s benchmarking and research analytics tool, which measures research performance using Scopus data.  This 30 minute workshop will walk the participant through the features of the database, identify their publication set and apply a number of useful metrics to the publications

Who should attend

Researchers who would like to use the SciVal tool to gain a quantitative analysis of their research outputs.

What you will learn

  • Quick and easy access to the research performance metrics for new SciVal users 
  • Find an individual researcher’s set of publications. 
  • Analyse a set of publications for useful metrics such as: Useful metrics: h-index; Documents by author; Citation counts; Field Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI); Outputs in top citation percentiles; Outputs in top journal percentiles and quartiles; International and industry collaborations; CiteScore; SNIP; SJR
