Building personal resilience during change

Course description

Change at work can be difficult.  Whether it's the extra workload involved, the uncertainty, or concern around changes in the job itself, it's not always the way we would like it to be.  This additional stress can also coincide with events happening in our personal lives that demand our energy.

This session offers tips for building sustainable performance in challenging times.  It takes a holistic approach, exploring how we can position ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally to adapt to changes that are occurring in our lives.

You will have an opportunity to self-assess your current resilience levels by completing the Resilience at Work (R@W) Scale.  This is a validated scale that is highly applicable to all roles within the university (see www.workingwithresilience.com.au).  The session itself focuses on practical ways to build your resilience around the seven components of the scale.
