Flourishing in facilitation: Building teaching presence with the Flinders Facilitation Framework

Course description

Are you looking for practical ways to help students feel connected, supported and engaged throughout their learning journey?

This session introduces the Flinders Facilitation Framework (FFF), a suite of evidence-informed resources designed to help academics create impactful learning experiences through intentional facilitation.

Facilitation plays a critical role in student success. The ways we communicate, guide learning, foster belonging and respond to student needs can influence engagement, confidence and progression across a topic. The Flinders Facilitation Framework provides practical tools and templates to help educators identify where their teaching presence can have the greatest impact, regardless of whether they teach face-to-face, online or in blended environments.

Through examples and guided activities, participants will explore how to map the student and teacher journey, plan facilitation actions across a semester, and make informed decisions about where to focus their time and effort.

Whether you are new to facilitation or looking to refine your existing practice, this session will provide practical resources and actionable ideas that you can immediately apply in your own teaching context.
