Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is an international, ethical, scientific and quality standard for the conduct of trials that involve human participants. The ICH E6(R3) Guideline for Good Clinical Practice outlines the requirements for investigators, ethics committees, study sponsors, data custodians, and all others working in trials to assure that the rights, safety, and well-being of trial participants are respected and protected.
GCP training is mandatory for everyone working in trials, and certification is required every three years.
As part of continuing researcher development in trials, the Flinders University Trials Research Unit is pleased to offer FREE Transcelerate-accredited GCP courses to all Flinders University staff and students via Sophie Mepham GCPTM
Three different self-paced online courses are available for registration:
Note: For those with an existing GCP certificate based on content from ICH R6(E2), retraining on R3 is to be completed by 13 January 2027.
This course is fully online and modules can be completed at your own pace and in any order.
GCP certification will be awarded after successfully completing the quizzes associated with the chosen course.
In-person GCP training sessions will also be offered by the Flinders Trials Unit at various times of the year. If interested in the in-person courses (which will include question and answer sessions, and opportunities for sighting examples of key trial documents), please email the Unit to find out more information: trials@flinders.edu.au.
