Connect with the IBC – one-on-one virtual meeting

Course description

Representatives from the Flinders University Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) are offering one-on-one sessions to researchers with questions about how the recent amendments to the Gene Technology Regulations 2001 may affect their research.

These sessions will allow researchers to ask questions in a one-on-one environment, and receive personalised advice. We are happy to assist with enquires relating to the amended Regulations, including changes to the regulation of:

  • genome editing technologies (e.g. CRISPR/Cas, TALENs, ZFNs);
  • oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis (ODM);
  • engineered gene drives; and
  • RNAi technologies.

The IBC has provided a short overview session outlining the major changes to the Gene Technology Regulations 2001, available here. Please ensure that you have viewed this session prior to attending your one-on-one meeting.

Please note that individual sessions will run for 20 minutes via an interactive MS Teams webinar. Registrants will receive a calendar invitation detailing the time of their meeting and an MS Teams meeting link. If you would prefer a phone meeting, please contact the IBC to arrange.

If the matter is urgent, please contact the Biosafety Officer for assistance.
