Students with disabilities can approach a Disability Advisor who may develop an Access Plan suggesting possible reasonable adjustments for the student - to their study arrangements and/or study environment. This workshop recognises that disabilities come in many forms and most are not visible, and that meeting the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Disability Standards for Education 2005 can be challenging. At the same time, it is recognised that there needs to be a balance with the inherent requirements of courses and topics.
This workshop will be jointly facilitated by Disability Advisors and Manager Equal Opportunity and Diversity.
The workshop will cover the basic requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act and will explore different adjustments that can be made to assist students to study.
