Introduction to Implementation Science and Translation

Course description

Flinders University has recently launched the Flinders Implementation & Translation (FIT) Academy, under the leadership of Professor Gill Harvey and Dr Sarah Hunter. The FIT Academy is being established to consolidate and expand Flinders University’s expertise in implementation science and knowledge translation.

As part of the FIT Academy, Dr Sarah Hunter will host an introduction to Implementation Science and Translation course. This session will provide an introduction to and overview to implementation science and knowledge translation methods. 

Presented by Dr Sarah Hunter and Dr Michael Lawless, Senior Research Fellows in College of Nursing and Health Sciences. the topics of discussion will include:

  • what is implementation science and knowledge translation and how do they connect?
  • why to apply these methods in your area of research
  • how to pick a theory, model, or framework
  • ways to engage stakeholders and consumers in your research
  • how to measure impact and success.
