University-Industry Partnerships: panel discussion

Course description

This session will provide different perspectives on university-industry partnerships to successfully create connections for long-term research projects and collaborations. Join us to hear from key industry partners about their experiences communicating with, and collaborating with researchers; academics who have worked in industry and an Industry Supervisor of a PhD student.

Speakers include:

• Professor Tim Sutton, Research Director, Crop Sciences, SARDI 
• Professor Mark Taylor and Associate Professor David Hobbs, Flinders University 
• Michelle Crisp, Manager, Industry Insights at Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing
• Nilla Wen, HDR Engagement and Partnerships Manager, Flinders University

The presentations will be followed by a Q & A session, facilitated by Prof Tim Cavagnaro, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Training and Capabilities), Dean of Graduate Research. We encourage the audience to come with questions for our panelists. 

This session will be run in-person at Alere South Function Centre, L2, Student Hub, Bedford Park. Afternoon tea will be provided. Rural and remote colleagues or those who are unable to attend in person, please contact researcher.development@flinders.edu.au.

The Office of Graduate Research will provide all registered attendees with 10 points toward their HDR supervision training. Simply register, attend and engage in the session live, and we will handle the rest.
