Select your Readings - finding equitable and accessible resources

Course description

In the move to online teaching during COVID19, many staff have found that their readings are not easily accessible for students. This may be because their textbook is only available in print, or that the publisher has set low user limits on an online version.

Come along to this iEnrol course to learn more about the complex world of academic publishing and the options available for sourcing teaching material that is equitably accessible for all of your students. These options range from the Library’s extensive collection of online, subscription content, to quality open educational resources that are available for free to use (and often to adapt).

We will explore common issues that:

  • teaching staff face in selecting readings
  • library staff face in sourcing readings
  • students face in accessing readings

In doing so, we hope to learn more about your experiences and how the Library can support you.
