Course description

Are you a clinician, allied health professional, or health student considering a PhD? Or recently started a PhD?

If you have a growing track record of research experience and outputs, you may be eligible to apply for the prestigious National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postgraduate Scholarships Scheme.
 
Join us for this information session led by Flinders' Research Development and Support team, which will provide a comprehensive overview of the NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship scheme to help you decide if it’s the right opportunity for you, as well as practical advice for preparing your application.
 
All individuals planning to apply for the NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme, as well as their supervisors, should attend. 
 
In this session, we’ll cover:

  • Key eligibility and scheme information
  • How to prepare for an application
  • Understanding the assessment criteria and application components
  • Tips for writing a strong application
  • Flinders University’s internal support and submission process

Who should attend?

  • Prospective and early PhD students (less than 1.0 FTE elapsed by Dec 31 2026), including clinician-researchers, considering applying for an NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship
  • Current and prospective Supervisors of clinical, allied health, public health students, etc, are strongly encouraged to attend
