Getting started with NVivo for Windows

Course description

NVivo is software for qualitative research that helps you organise, store and analyse unstructured, non‑numerical data in one central location. It supports a wide range of sources—including surveys, interviews, articles, videos, emails, social media content, PDFs and images—so you can work efficiently and back up your findings with evidence.

By importing data, creating nodes and coding material, you can identify patterns, compare emerging themes and build a rigorous analytical foundation. NVivo’s memos, visualisations and integration with bibliographic tools can further streamline your workflow, helping you prepare your research for publication sooner.

What you will learn:

  • Create and organise a qualitative research project in NVivo
  • Import a range of data sources using NVivo’s integrated tools
  • Code and classify your data
  • Format your data to take advantage of NVivo’s auto-coding ability
  • Use NVivo to discover new themes and trends in research
  • Visualise relationships and trends in your data.
