Know Your Worth #3: Open Publishing and Metrics

Course description

This is the third of a three-part series presented by the Library as part of International Open Access Week 2026. Learn more about Open Access Week here.

Right now the academic landscape is shifting at a pace that is almost impossible to afford or keep up with. Let’s focus on what you can control.

Join the Library as we introduce you to the common definitions and concepts surrounding Open Access in an Australian context. Learn how to make your articles openly accessible in a sustainable way, by utilising Read & Publish agreements and self-archiving your Author Accepted Manuscripts in ResearchNow.

In the second half of this session, learn how to tell the story of those publications through metrics tools SciVal and Overton and ensure that you’re putting your best foot forward for grants and promotions rounds.

Presented by the Library’s Research Engagement team.
