Interaction, community and connection for engagement

Course description

This session will enable you to consider your students as a community of learners, and how to facilitate their social connection and engagement in learning. Using the model of a “Community of Inquiry”, we will take a look at creating “social presence” as well as “cognitive presence” and “teaching presence” using a range of tools available within FLO. These strategies could apply to online, hybrid, in person and a blend of these delivery formats.

This workshop is one of a series of mini workshops with key tips and principles for ensuring students have a positive learning experience early in Semester 1, 2022. As we begin the semester, how do we make careful decisions around utilising FLO to the maximum benefit of students studying remotely? What arrangements can be made for content and activity that is required to be delivered in person?
