Social Sciences National Industry PhD Program workshop

Course description

Since the launch of the National Industry PhD Program (NIPP) in 2023, Flinders is leading the nation in securing awards. The next round opens on July 13 and closes on August 21.

Join us for an exclusive workshop for Flinders researchers specifically working in the Social Sciences (e.g., criminology, sociology, psychology, human services, geography, archaeology, social determinants, social impact etc.). Dr David Beecham, Acting National Director of the National Industry PhD Program at Campus Plus will provide advice on how to prepare a strong and competitive application in the social sciences.

Dr Beecham brings extensive experience across higher education and research. With a background in sociology and deep experience in research development and grants management, David specialises in supporting researchers to connect with industry, shape impactful projects and translate research into practical benefit.

Since the start of the NIPP in 2023, successful applications have been awarded nationally across diverse fields of study. There is great potential for applications for this program in the social sciences, both nationally, and at Flinders University. Come along to this session to hear an overview of the program, how to frame an application in the social sciences, practical tips on assessment guidelines, and how to align your social sciences proposal with the selection criteria and strengthen your application.

HDR supervisors attending this session will receive 10 program points for the HDR Supervisor Development Program.
