Sessional Teaching: Supporting the success of your first year students

Course description

This workshop caters to all sessional staff who work in first year undergraduate topics across the university.  Students now come to university via a range of pathways and may have different aims and expectations than the students we were teaching a few years ago.  The way we teach these students needs to cater to their differences to ensure they experience quality learning outcomes that challenge and extend them.  This workshop focusses on working with students who are in their first year of university and discusses ways of addressing the diverse range of experience that students now bring to first year university topics.  This workshop supplements the existing "Introduction to Sessional Teaching", and "Introduction to Assessment" workshops.
