Team-Based Learning (TBL) is a "special form of collaborative learning using a specific sequence of individual work, group work and immediate feedback to create a motivational framework in which students increasingly hold each other accountable for coming to class prepared and contributing to discussion". Michael Sweet at http://www.teambasedlearning.org/
TBL is one model of a 'flipped' classroom and has been demonstrated to work with either large classes or small classes.
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to experience a TBL lesson from the student's perspective. You will be given some pre-reading and will experience the individual and group readiness assurance process (including scratch-card based in-class testing). There will also be a debrief with Flinders staff who have used TBL. Further instructions will be sent to enrolled participants before the session.
