Intermediate: Exploring Your Data (Descriptive Statistics, Graphs and Custom Tables)

Course description

This more advanced course builds on the skills taught in the introductory courses, to include techniques for Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) with a focus on appropriate summarising of the data and presenting it in tables and graphs. Although this course is aimed to be practically orientated, theoretical considerations related to the covered topics are addressed.

The course is aimed to be practically oriented with extensive use of the IBM SPSS and Stata statistical packages.

Prerequisites / assumed knowledge

Preferably participants should attend Introduction to SPSS, Introduction to Stata, and Introduction to Statistical Analysis (or have an understanding of concepts/skills covered in those three introductory courses) before enrolling in this workshop.
