Biosafety Training

Course description

The session will cover researcher’s responsibilities for work involving gene technology, hazardous microorganisms and other hazardous biological samples.

Attendees will gain an understanding of the role of the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and IBC application processes, biosafety regulatory requirements, physical containment facilities, biosafety risk management, and transport, storage and disposal of biological samples.

Research staff and students, including senior investigators and supervisors, who work in a PC facility, or work with GMOs, genome editing technologies (e.g. CRISPR/Cas9), microbial pathogens, or viruses if:

  1. You have never attended at Flinders; or
  2. It has been more than 3 years since you last attended.
