Introduction to Biosafety

Course description

This session will provide researchers, including HDR students, with an overview of biosafety processes and support at Flinders University.

Presented by Belinda Cox, Biosafety Officer, this session will cover:

• Working with Biohazards
• Physical containment facilities
• Biosafety training and resources
• What types of work needs Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) approval
• An overview of the ResearchNow Ethics & Biosafety online application system
• Review processes and timelines
• Biosecurity and import permits 
  

This is an in-person session, with snacks provided and plenty of time for questions.
