Who should attend

This workshop is for topic coordinators and anyone who is developing a course in Canvas.

You will need access to your topic before the start of the workshop. You will receive an email from the Canvas Project team when your topic has been transitioned.

What you will learn

What you will take away from this workshop is a basic familiarity with the Canvas interface and how to use the extensive Canvas help system.

You will also take away a partly built site that you have made, giving you some experience of adding pages, working with modules, adding assessments, and using the content editor.

You will also know how to use the various Canvas help resources to aid in your learning.

Prerequisites / assumed knowledge

  • You will need to be able to login to Canvas. If you have requested a sandpit then this should be setup already for you.
  • Ideally you will also have your Canvas topic to start working on. If your topic has been transitioned, then you should have received an email from the Canvas Project team.
  • This workshop assumes a basic familiarity with Canvas. If you did not attend one of the online Canvas demonstration sessions, then before attending this workshop you need to watch a recording of the demonstration.
