Collaborate: The Basics

Course description

For Collaborate training, please attend our self-paced workshop. No more face-to-face workshops will be scheduled.

If you have any specific questions about Collaborate, please get in touch with your local eLearning Support Team.

Participants in this workshop will get a basic overview of the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra web conferencing software available in FLO. Participants will be shown how to manage the session communication tools, share screen content and record sessions for later playback.

You have two options for doing this workshop.

  • Take it online at your own pace (see below for how to access the site).
  • Attend a face-to-face workshop* (enrol for an 'Upcoming event').

*If you decide to attend a face-to-face workshop, please bring a laptop or device if you have one.

How to access Collaborate self-paced workshop

Collaborate self-paced workshop is available as a topic through Flinders Learning Online (FLO). You can self-enrol:

  • Click https://flo.flinders.edu.au/enrol/index.php?id=62977
  • This link takes you to FLO and a page that says Collaborate Workshop: Self Enrolment (Student). Click the Continue button.
  • Click the blue 'Enrol me' button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Start the Collaborate workshop.

  • Distinguish between the Moderator/Participant user interface
  • Identify different methods of communication – audio, chat, video
  • Screen share content
  • Develop and deliver Whiteboard content
  • Generate a session recording
