Copyright and open licensing for publishing - Library

Course description

Every publication contract involves a clause about copyright. This session will help explain what you are agreeing to in those publishing contracts and what's normal to expect.  When publishing open access, you'll often be asked to make the decision about copyright by choosing a Creative Commons licence, we'll cover all of the licences so you can choose the right licence for your research. 

The session will address:

  • What to expect in a publishing agreement
  • Understanding of copyright ownership
  • What a Creative Commons licence is and how to choose one when publishing open access
