Digital Fabrication Workshop: Introduction to Laser Cutting

Course description

This presentation will provide an overview of laser cutter basics, including how they work and what their capabilities and limitations are. 

Craig is the Computer Systems Engineer for the School of Computer Science and Engineering. Craig has 5 years’ experience working at Flinders University, providing computer systems and electronics support to the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics.

What you will learn

Attendees will gain an understanding of how to design for cutting and engraving, and what kinds of software to use.  There will be a demonstration of laser cutting and attendees may have the opportunity to have their own items cut or engraved, (time and materials permitting).
