Building Personal Resilience at Work
Course description
High workloads and constant change in today's workplaces, combined with a hectic pace of life, mean resilience is often the key to survival. This session offers tips for building resilience in challenging times. It will explore how to develop mental toughness, physical stamina and emotional bounce-back while maintaining a sense of purpose and meaning.
Information presented is evidence-based and derived from the literature, as well as from research by the consultant. The strategies have been used successfully with staff across all professions and organisational levels, including academics.
Kathryn is an organisational psychologist, company director and executive coach. She has worked in organisational psychology since the early 1980s and has held numerous leadership positions within the profession, including the SA Chair of the College of Organisational Psychologists. Her work spans all industry sectors and includes substantial experience in the SA university sector where she has acted as an external consultant on assignments which range from strategic planning and assisting teams in trouble, through to facilitating workshops and leader coaching.

What you will learn
This is a practical workshop. Attendance allows participants to:
- Develop an understanding of the components of personal resilience in a work setting
- Gain Australian benchmarked feedback on their persona resilience levels through completion of the Resilience at Work (RAW) Scale
- Identify ideas and strategies for building personal resilience which can be incorporated into everyday work routines and approaches
