Orientation for Academic Staff

Course description

This half-day academic orientation program is designed to welcome and support all members of academic staff new to Flinders University. In order to ensure that you are well prepared for your new role, all new members of academic staff are expected to attend this program. The event will be hosted by the Professional Development Unit, People and Culture, and introduced by Naomi Madsen, Manager, Professional Development Unit.

Professor Colin Stirling
President and Vice-Chancellor, Portfolio of the Vice-Chancellor

To welcome new academic staff to the University and discuss current issues
at Flinders.


Professor Robert Saint
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research)

Will discuss current research-related issues, strategies and support at Flinders.


Professor Deborah West
Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students)

A discussion of the University's vision for student success, as well as contacts relating to teaching support at Flinders for academic staff.


Mr Sebastian Raneskold
Vice-President and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International)

Why internationalisation is important, Flinders International strategic objectives, Flinders International service objectives, International Compliance and Legislation, key contacts for academic staff.


Professor Chris Brebner
Interim Pro Vice Chancellor (Learning and Teaching Innovation)

An overview of teaching and learning support at Flinders University.
