NHMRC Investigator Grants: Guidelines & Strategic Advice

Course description

This session will prepare you to apply for a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Investigator Grant.

Presenters Lucy Sheehan-Hennessy and Marina Zupan will provide an overview of the scheme, as well as considerations and tips for crafting a strong application. We will cover:

  • Important information & eligibility, key changes, and trends
  • How to choose the leadership level for your application
  • The application process and Flinders support
  • How to choose and justify your top 10 publications
  • How to describe your research impact & leadership
  • How to think about and pitch a program of research

We will then be joined by a panel of successful NHMRC Investigator recipients and peer reviewers, who will share their experiences applying for and reviewing Investigator applications and offer advice to applicants.

All researchers who are applying for an Investigator Grant this year are encouraged to attend. There will be time for questions and discussion.

This session will be run online via MS Teams. A link will be sent to you via calendar invitation prior to the session.
