NHMRC Ideas Grants Pitching Session

Course description

Are you planning to apply for an Ideas Grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)?

Join us for a chance to pitch your research project to a panel of Ideas Grant holders and reviewers and receive constructive feedback on your proposal. This is a great opportunity to improve the clarity and conciseness of your pitch and to help you develop a stronger research project.

What to expect:

  • Pitch Your Ideas: You’ll have 10 minutes to present your research idea.
  • Receive Friendly Feedback: Get up to 10 minutes of personalised feedback from the panel.
  • Learn from Peers: Gain insights by listening to your colleagues’ pitches and the feedback they receive.

Your pitch should cover:

  • The Problem & Unmet Need: What is the health issue you are seeking to address?
  • Research Questions: What are your key research questions and how will you tackle them?
  • Innovation and Creativity: How is your research approach or proposed solution to the problem innovative and creative?
  • Outcomes and Significance: What are the intended outcomes of the research, and how will it result in advancements to the research or health area?
  • The Team: Who are the core team members and what capabilities will they address?

We also have spots available for people who want to watch the pitching session without participating (e.g., research support staff; those strategising for future applications). Please contact us to secure your spot in the audience.

This session will be held in person at the Alere South Function Centre, L2, Student Hub. If you are a rural or remote researcher and you would like to pitch, please contact us.

If you have any questions, please email researcherpd.rds@flinders.edu.au.
