What Makes a Good Research Presentation?

Course description

Presentations are a great way to distill a message about your research. They ensure people can follow along and understand things through visuals, but only if done right.

In this session, Traci Klarenbeek, Digital Media Advisor, will explain how to build a research presentation that's easy to understand and visually appealing.

Traci will provide an overview on key concepts to keep in mind when building a presentation for conferences and research talks. You will learn how to:

  • Use analogies and stories to convey your message
  • The use of colour and images to guide viewers
  • How to map information on slides and more.

There will be time for questions and discussion in this session.

This session will be run online via MS Teams and a link will be sent to you prior to the session.
