Your Research and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals

Course description

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its 2030 agenda challenge the global community to build a world where no one is left behind. The SDGs address various social, economic, and environmental challenges that require transformative shifts in societies and economies. Several SDG targets directly refer to the need for research-related activities as key components of addressing the SDGs.

Your research might already address some of these SDGs (e.g., reducing inequalities, providing quality education, improving health and well-being), but how do you make sure that your research is properly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals? More importantly, why does this matter?

Presented by Adam Gardner, Director, Business Intelligence and Planning, this session will explore:

  • What are the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals?
  • How can you link your research to the relevant SDG?
  • Why is linking your research to SDGs important?
  • What support is available to you?
This session will be run via MS Teams. A link will be sent to you via calendar invitation prior to the session.

Please email the Researcher Training, Development and Communication team at researcherpd.rds@flinders.edu.au if you have any questions.
