Recognise and respond to disclosures of sexual assault and sexual harassment

Course description

Presented by Yarrow Place in conjunction with Health, Counselling & Disability Services, this workshop will equip participants with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide appropriate responses to people who have been sexually assaulted or sexually harassed.

What you will learn

As a result of attending this training, paticipants will:

  • Gain an understanding of the context in which rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment occurs and examine myths and values that contribute to the silencing of victims.
  • Recognise the impact of sexual assault and sexual harassment  on survivors.
  • Develop skills to respond appropriately to disclosures of sexual assault or sexual harassment.
  • Increase knowledge of University policy and procedure, and possible referral points (on and off campus).
